『THE PEACE BOOK』
内容：平和ってなんでしょう。実は私たちの身近なところにあり、普段は意識していないことかもしれません。明るい色合いの絵と簡単な英語の文章は、子供にもわかりやすく大人の心にも響きます。今の生活が幸せだと気付かせてくれて、広い世界に目を向けるきっかけになる一冊です。
対象：幼児～小学校高学年
※上記の絵本の画像は執筆者の私物のため、現在販売されている表紙とは異なります（内容は変わりません）。
◆用意するもの
紙、色鉛筆やペンなど（絵を描く道具）
◆読み聞かせのポイント
表紙から題名を確かめ、本の内容を想像させる。
T：Look at this book. What’s the title?
S1：ピース！
S2：The peace book!
T：That’s right. What does peace mean?
Ss：平和？
T：Good! Peace means 平和. You can see various kinds of peace in this book. Now let’s read through it together.
◆アクティビティの進め方1 ＜幼児から小学校低学年向け＞：
(1)平和とはどのようなものかを考えさせ、平和についての絵を描かせる。
T：There are lots of kinds of peace in this book. What is peace for you? When do you feel peace?
Now, everyone close your eyes and think of peace. What do you see? Let’s draw a picture.
(2)生徒は絵を描いて Peace のようにタイトルを書く。例えば、Peace is playing with friends. のように絵の説明でもよい。
T：Give titles to your pictures. For example, I’ll write “Peace is playing with my friends” for this picture’s title. Let’s think about it.
※生徒さんの習熟度に応じて書かせましょう。
◆アクティビティの進め方2 ＜小学校高学年向け＞：
(1)平和について考え、思いついたことをシートに書き込む。自分の意見をまとめ、平和についてプレゼンテーションする。
T：What comes to mind when you hear the word peace?
What does peace feel like? What does peace smell like? What does peace look like? What does peace sound like?
Let’s write some keywords on this sheet. Put your thoughts together. Then give a presentation.
